I am involved with a kind of abstraction that looks at the chance organization of images and their accidental occurrences by using various types of media. Those could include different kinds of liquids like water, oxidizing agents, resin and or paint. I merge them with a controlled approach using those elements attempting to complete a process that will embody a structure of sort. Sheet-lead helps me to achieve this. I also apply found objects such as those that are man-made as well as those found in nature that I think can help bridge the contrasting nature of those opposites… let’s say... for a complimentary experience. My way of seeing life can be thought of as passing through various ways of being... from what I can and cannot control expressing that view in the work. I am surprised at how nature can be organized in such a seemingly random way and I am astounded by the beauty of it all. Art for me is a refashioning of the scheme of things after one’s own heart’s desire. The intent in my work is to sum up those experiences. My art background consists of a BFA/MFA in painting and drawing by the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena,Ca.
